0e-Mision

New generation of residual biomass energy exploitation systems without emissions to negative energy sources in carbon.

Description

The 0e-MISION project conceives the environment problem associated with polluting emissions as the great global challenge of the future. This project outlines a more sustainable energy future, with combustion energy installations without chimneys, not even below the established emission limits, that are capable of producing electrical and thermal energy at any scale, in a clena, safe, efficient way and more cheap.

Research in these solutions includes new concepts of combustion equipment, which allow greater control of the process and an energy use of new fuel resources, and new concepts of emissions purification (emissions biofilter) and optimal use of CO2 to produce plant materials through intensive greenhouse cultivation, through hydroponics.

All the research included in the scope of 0e-MISION will make it possible to conceive a new concept of energy generation by combustion without emissions, at a low cost and with a significantly lower carbon footprint associated with current systems. In addition, it should also be noted that the research promoted by 0e-MISION will generate a series of economic, social and environmental benefits associated with an auxiliary productive activity, which will create wealth and employment, and which also promotes both a more sustainable management of certain waste than currently they are considered as such and require specialized management.

Objectives

  • Analysis of fuel depletion to improve emissions and generate “unburned” for commercial use.
  • Evaluation of the potential use of “residues” as fuel for boilers (different in nature from conventional agricultural/forestry biomass).
  • Research on a new generation of activated/modified hydrichars that allow the oxidation of CO to CO2 and from NO to NO2.
  • Create plant substrates with the ability to absorb NO2 and particulate matter.
  • Generate solutions for the use of CO2from emissions.

Actions

  • Waste pretreatment to obtain solid fuels.
  • Research on new combustion concepts.
  • Activation and chemical modification of hydrochars.
  • Research on new biofilter materials to capture emissions.
  • Plant species with high CO2 uptake.Intensive greenhouse cultivation.
  • Systems integration. Full pilot validation.

Expected Results

  • This project outlines a more sustainable energy future, with combustion energy installations without chimneys, not even below the established emission limits, that are capable of producing electrical and thermal energy at any scale, in a clean, safe, efficient way and more cheap.
  • A natural solution that can be integrated into an urban garden or green infrastructure that will allow the capture of emissions from combustion and similar processes.

LIFE VALPORC

The goal of the LIFE + VALPORC is to demonstrate a sustainable alternative to the management of pig carcasses and manure, focusing on the environmental problems derived from its current management and valorizing these wastes by transforming them into biofuels (biogas and biodiesel) and organic fertilizers,

BIOREFINERÍA FT

The FT BIOREFINERY Project consists in developing a technology that allows obtaining 2nd generation liquid biofuels (synthetic diesel) and electrical energy, through the application of gasification and co-gasification processes, of different types of solid and / or liquid waste ( herbaceous biomass, lignocellulosic, glycerin, etc.)
