AGRED

Advanced algorithms for distribution network management

Description

The overall objective of the AGRED project is to generate a series of tools aimed at facilitating the management of distribution networks and networks of sensors and equipment related to energy management.

Objectives and Actions

  • Design and development of a battery sizing tool that provides both technical and economic KPIs and analyzes the investment required for a specific plant. This tool must have a graphical user interface for presenting results, entering user-specified parameters, uploading and saving files, etc.
  • Design and development of a universal edge gateway based on the “single data” concept and a universal building API. This gateway will ensure interoperability across multiple domains and directions (northbound and southbound interoperability), covering both technical (protocols) and semantic interoperability, as well as interoperability with external services.
  • Design and development of a BMS (Building Management System) that integrates the following modules: signal visualization, system management, system control, and alarm management.

Expected Results

  • Functional technical-economic analysis tool for the optimal sizing of energy storage systems, capable of calculating key performance indicators (KPIs) and estimating the economic returns associated with different operating scenarios in distribution networks.
  • A universal operational gateway based on edge architecture that integrates communication protocols and ontologies, enabling the collection, storage, and management of data from sensor networks, ensuring both technical and semantic interoperability at different infrastructure levels (northbound and southbound), as well as efficient connection to external services.
  • A building energy management platform implemented on edge nodes that provides real-time control and monitoring of systems, integrating data visualization, equipment management and control, and alarm monitoring and processing capabilities.

Technological Service

  • Research into advanced and intelligent strategies for the management, operation, flexibility, and maintenance of buildings based on AI/ML/DL for the generation of decision-making support systems.
