MARKETBC

Prototype of a blockchain-based Marketplace platform for accounting and executing energy transactions in an energy community.

Description

MARKETBC aims to develop a functional prototype of a digital marketplace-type platform, based on blockchain technology, aimed at the automated management of energy transactions within an energy community. The platform will enable the decentralized traceability, recording, and validation of energy exchanges between different actors (producers, consumers, retailers, and electric vehicle charging stations) through smart contracts. The system will be integrated with energy monitoring and forecasting tools and will be validated in a real-world pilot environment.

Objectives

  • Design and implement a decentralized platform for energy trading.
  • Validate the system in a real-world pilot environment with local generation and consumption.
  • Develop smart contracts to automate energy transactions.
  • Integrate demand and generation forecasting using ML techniques.
  • Ensure the traceability and transparency of transactions through blockchain.

Actions

  • Analysis and definition of system and pilot requirements.
  • Development of energy monitoring and prediction subsystems.
  • Design and deployment of the blockchain network and smart contracts.
  • Systems integration and functional validation of the prototype.
  • Technical coordination, monitoring, and transfer of results.

Expected Results

  • Technical specification of the system and solution architecture.
  • Functional energy prediction subsystem.
  • Operational blockchain platform with distributed nodes.
  • System validation in a pilot environment with real-world data.
  • Complete technical documentation of the prototype and its functionalities.

R&D Line

  • Development of Smart Contracts for peer-to-peer energy transactions using Blockchain technology.
