MOBILITIES FOR EU
New MOBility solutions for climate neutraLity in EU cITIES
Description
MOBILITIES FOR EU project seeks to accelerate the transformation of cities through climate neutrality through innovative mobility solutions for passengers and transport of goods. Madrid (Spain) and Dresde (Germany) will implement 11 pilots with 27 advance solutions, integrating electrification, automation and connectivity. The actions, design under an approach of co-design with the active participation of citizens and interested parts, include electric autonomous vehicles for passengers and goods, electrification or the use of H2 on vehicles, intelligent recharge infrastructures or added value services based on data spaces. Urban Transport Labs (UT-Labs) will be develop as innovation hubs in all cities, where the users will be the main characters on the definition, test and adaptation of the solutions, promoting a more sustainable mobility and focus on people and guranteeing also its scalability and replicability on Ioanina, Trencin, Espoo, Gdansk and Sarajevo.
Objectives
- Development of adapted mobility solutions to people needs and cities (through diverse demonstrations of innovative technologies such as autonomous electric vehicles, recharge infrastructures based on renewable energies and mobility data ecosystems)
- Significative reduction of carbon emissions and improvement on energy efficiency alligned with the European Cities Mission objectives.
- Boost the urban transformation through the citizen participation and key actors to improve the gobernance and planification of urban mobility, through 7 urban mobility laboratories (UT-Labs) that will boost the co-creation and integration of solutions into urban policies.
- Boost the replicability and scalability of solutions in Europe through the creation of implementation plans on diverse cties, of the project and out of them, and the development of business models and investment strategies with high replication potential.
- Contribution to the european climate agenda and reinforcement of strategic alliances, with the participation on initiatives such as 2ZERO, CCAM, CIVITAS and NetZeroCities to promote sustainable mobility solutions, and the support to local goverments on the implementation of climate contracts, and sustainable urban mobility plans.
Actions
-
- Technical, administrative and financial project coordination, managing the quality and compliance of the results, assuring that the project is executed according with the deadlines and UE regulations.
- Tracking of the evaluation of the solutions impact implemented on Madrid and Dresden through the assessment framework developed on the project in order to measure the reduction of CO2 emissions, energy efficiency or the social acceptance of the technologies implemented among other aspects and the generation of a final report about the feasibility and limitations of the solutions tested on the project.
- Development of gobernance strategies and recommendations for public policies leading the ellaboration of recommendations to improve the urban mobility strategic plan on the UE and the ellaboration of a White Paper with recommendations addressed to european initiatives such as 2ZERO, CCAM and NetZeroCities, to improve the integration of sustainable mobility on the urban policies.
- Planification and management of the replication of solutions through the ellaboration of plans for the replicability and scalability of the mobilty solutions in ither european cities, including the identification of business models applicable and financial strategies to facilitate the adoption fo these solutions.
Expected Results
- Development of recommendations to improve the european mobility policies with the editing of a “White Paper” with recommendations for the 2ZERO, CCAM and NetZeroCities initiatives, who will look for influence on the formulation of future mobility and sutainability strategies on the UE.
- Final assessment of the performance and impact of the 2ZERO and CCAM mobility solutions implemented on Madrid and Drese (the final report will include the viability and limitations of these solutions, based on the KPI calculation to measure its efectivity).
- Development of the update and/or redaction of urban mobility plans of the seven citie sof the project to boost the sustainable innovative mobility solutions in Europe, defining strategies and financial aspects to facilitate its implementation and incorporating co-creation actions for its definition.
R&D Line
- Development of methodologies and tools for the design of urban transformation strategies on cities.
