CARTIF Projects

Strengthening the scientific and technological ecosystem in innovation for advanced industrial and digital systems

Description

This project focuses primarily on incorporating new equipment that will expand the capabilities of the Industrial and Digital Systems Division (SID) in key areas such as 3D digitization, multispectral machine vision, artificial intelligence, and immersive technologies. The projects in which CARTIF participates often require advanced data capture, processing, and analysis tools, as well as validation and prototyping devices that are not always available on the market or are too expensive for limited use in research and testing phases. With the incorporation of this equipment, the Division will be able to strengthen its role in supporting the business community in Castile and León and nationwide, providing highly specialized, tailor-made solutions.

Objectives

  • Incorporation of an advanced 3D printer to facilitate the generation of complex, multi-material prototypes.
  • Purchase of Nvidia GB10 AI-based computing systems to train deep learning algorithms, perform pattern recognition, and run cognitive robotics applications in real time.
  • Purchase of several computer vision systems to provide a complete geometric and spatial capture ecosystem for infrastructure, heritage, and industrial processes.
  • Enhancement of safety in collaborative robotics environments through a contactless protection system compatible with UR e-Series robots, which stops the robot before a collision.
  • Promote immersive and interactive technologies through the incorporation of extended reality glasses, a high-precision gesture controller, and human and object tracking systems, which will enable advanced human-machine interaction, replication of operator movements, and validations in XR environments.

Actions

  • Identification of specific purchasing conditions.
  • Review of approved suppliers and search for other suppliers.
  • Request for quotes from at least three suppliers, selection of the most suitable one, and placing of the order with the chosen supplier.
  • Receipt of equipment, verification of equipment, and payment for said equipment.
  • Functional testing and commencement of technical tasks.
