[LocalRES] Sustainable Places 2022

Engaging people and technologies in the future of energy

LocalRES, in collaboration withthree Horizon 2020 sisters’ projects (Creators, Hestia and Lightness) will actively join the conference with the workshop “Engaging people and thechnologies in the future of energy”. The workshop intends to shed light on the importance of engaging people and unlocking the potential of technologies to promote Energy Communities and meet the EU’s ambition of a joint net zero emission of greenhouse gases by the year 2050. To ensure a people-centred, sustainable, just and innovative energy future, citizens and experts must be brought into dialogue to co-design new ways of organising around energy. During the workshop, key experts will illustrate approaches, strategies and solutions being tested in different typologies of Energy Communities. Instead of a techno-centric approach, these projects will present their methods to engage people and co-design technologies to forward a clean and fair energy transition.

The annual edition of Sustainable Places has been a place to shape and reflect how we think about buildings and the built environment. The event will be followed by a networking session and welcoome cocktail, allowing the international Sustainable Places community to connect and co-create research and market opportunities within the vibrant French clean-tech and sustainability ecosystem.
