Innovative social and health care solutions for ageing and independent living

PROCURA aims at the realisation of two innovative social and health care solutions for active ageing and independent living, going beyond the current specifications available on the market and allowing the piloting of innovative technologies in the experimental environment of a living lab, at Intras in Spain, Gérontopôle Nouvelle-Aquitaine in France and the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra in Portugal. The devices are a smart walker and a toilet with technical aids.

  • Develop innovative technological solutions with a user-centred design methodology and co-creation.
  • Develop a smart walker.
  • Develop a toilet equipped with technical aids.

  • Investigate different technologies and their maturity for assistive products.
  • Identify technologies that enhance assistive products through participation in user-centred design methodology and co-creation.
  • Develop prototypes.

Expected Results

  • Design methodology for assistive products based on user-centred design and co-creation.
  • Development of three smart walker prototypes to be tested in Spain, Portugal and France.
  • Development of three toilet prototypes equipped with technical aids to be tested in Spain, Portugal and France.
