BIALEMA

Production of Biofuels and its impact on food, energy and the environment.

Description

BIALEMA: RED for the production of Biofuels and its impact on food, energy and the environment. Conducted by Dr. Antonio Francisco Valdes Delgado (CUBAENERGIA).

The NETWORK works to determine, understand and disseminate the impacts of biofuel production on food production, on its net energy effect and the impact on the environment including the aspect of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Objectives

To promote knowledge and disseminate:

  • The food impact of producing fuel instead of food.
  • The impact on Biodiversity form the production of Biofuels.
  • The results of Biofuel production from agro-industrial waste.
  • Effects of the fuel/energy consumed in the production of Biofuels.
  • The impacts on the environment.
