HOUSEFUL

Innovative paradigm shift towards the circular economy in the housing sector.

Description

HOUSEFUL proposes an innovative paradigm shift towards the circular economy in the housing sector. The main objective is to develop and demonstrate an integrated systemic service (HOUSEFUL Service) composed of 11 circular solutions co-created by the agents involved in the housing value chain.

The HOUSEFUL Service aims to achieve circular management and efficient use of resources such as water, waste energy and materials in all phases of the life cycle of buildings in Europe.

Objectives

  • Develop a methodology for the quantification of the degree of circularity of buildings for the different phases that include their complete life cycle.
  • Demonstrate and validate the project methodology on a laboratory scale and on a large scale in 4 selected European buildings.
  • Ensure the marketability of HOUSEFUL circular solutions as an integrated systemic service and develop a Software as a Service for the replication of services in the housing sector.

Actions

  • Development of a methodology for the evaluation of circularity in the housing sector.
  • Co-creation actions of HOUSEFUL services.
  • Large scale demonstrations in buildings.
  • HOUSEFUL Solutions as a service: market, policies and exploitation.

Expected results

  • Reduction of waste deposited in landfill (from current 40% to 10% in 10 years).
  • Recovery of >95% of food waste on a domestic scale.
  • Recycling of >90% rainwater, gray water and black water for the production of reusable water and biogas.
  • Production of high quality biogas and efficient recovery.
  • Production of high quality compost from digestate.
  • Reduction of non-renewable primary energy consumption in buildings of up to 50%.
  • Reduction of up to 60% of CO2 emissions.

BATERURGIA

BATERURGIA

BATERURGIA “research into advanced recycling technologies for obtaining strategic metals from EV batteries”, aims to respond to the challenges posed by the recycling of LIBs and provide knowledge to solve the problems arising from the recovery and selective separation of critical metals to facilitate their use in the manufacture of new batteries or to replace conventional raw materials and introduce them into other production sectors as alternative raw materials.

FRONTSH1P

FRONTSH1P

Frontsh1p will contribute to further the green transition in the Polish region of Lódzkie. A region that on the one hand, traditionally heavily relies on coal extraction, and on the other hand, has pioneered circular (bio)economy since the early 2000s. The region has always been in the forefront of innovation and has become one of the leading regions in the field of circular economy.
