INCEPTION

Inclusive Cultural Heritage in Europe through 3D Semantic Modelling

Description

INCEPTION develops new methods and tools for automated 3D modelling and analysis of European cultural assets proposing advancements on hardware and software, as well as new approaches for Cultural Heritage 3D data inclusive access and exploitation by means of the so called INCEPTION-Platform.

INCEPTION’s inclusive approach comprises: time dynamics of 3D reconstruction (‘forever’); addresses scientists, engineers, authorities and citizens (‘for everybody’); and provides methods and tools applicable across Europe (‘from everywhere’).

CARTIF is in charge of the BIM semantic modelling and software applications for Heritage usability, testing their applicability on the Spanish demo site: Castle of Torrelobatón (Valladolid) as representative example of the European fortification architecture .

Objectives

  • To create an inclusive understanding of European cultural identity by stimulating and facilitating collaborations across disciplines, technologies and sectors.
  • To develop cost-effective procedures for on-site 3D survey and reconstruction of cultural heritage artefacts, buildings, and sites.
  • To develop an open-standard Semantic Web platform for accessing, processing and sharing interoperable 3D digital models.

Actions

Accessing, understanding, and strengthening European identity through its rich cultural heritage upon demonstrative actions in nine representative heritage sites:

Expected Results

INCEPTION-Platform: web platform for HBIM collaborative research.
3D models of the nine demo cases are divided into four categories: museums, archaeological sites, historical sites, heritage buildings. All ready for user-friendly VR / AR applications.

BATERURGIA

BATERURGIA

BATERURGIA “research into advanced recycling technologies for obtaining strategic metals from EV batteries”, aims to respond to the challenges posed by the recycling of LIBs and provide knowledge to solve the problems arising from the recovery and selective separation of critical metals to facilitate their use in the manufacture of new batteries or to replace conventional raw materials and introduce them into other production sectors as alternative raw materials.
